MUSLIM LIFE PROGRAMMING

The Muslim Life Program at Penn seeks to foster our students’ spiritual and religious life through supporting four aspects of Muslim Life: sacred knowledge, religious practice, good companionship and service. Our programing seeks to provide ongoing opportunities for students to engage in a welcoming and enriching environment. We aim to make available a strong foundation in traditional Islamic knowledge along with exposing students to some of the wealth of diversity and richness of the Muslim heritage. Through small group programming and personal interactions, students can reflectively engage with the intersection of their faith tradition in their own lives.

The Muslim Life Program at the University of Pennsylvania seeks to provide sustainable institutional support for Muslims on campus. Under the leadership of a full-time Muslim Chaplain, the Muslim Life Program seeks to create a welcoming environment for the students and community members that provides opportunities for intellectually and spiritually engaging with Islam. Key components of the Muslim Life Program are: the services of a full-time Muslim Chaplain, maintaining a physical home for Muslim students on campus, and engaging with a network of scholars, teachers and mentors for the students.
